Autobots Waiting Pictures
Slash Film has posted the below pics that show the Autobot fleet as they wait for a call to arms. The pictures where shot by Ricky C who reports "Hey guys! I got some really great pictures from the Transformers 2 set in Long Beach. I tried to get more pictures of that grey car but it sped away before i could snap some good pictures. Orci Comments on Hand, Marketing
Roberto Orci recently commented briefly on Shia's hand and promotional push for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Michael Bay said several weeks ago that Shia LaBeouf's hand would be incorporated into the movie's storyline and Orci has verified that it has been done. "Luckily nothing has to be reshot. Yes, we were on set last week to write it into the movie, not because it's absolutely necessary, but more because we want to make sure Shia's hand is protected for the remainder of the shoot..."
He also had commented that "Starting in November, you'll start seeing the MASSIVE [marketing] push..." for TF2. While Orci makes no mention whatsoever of trailer plans, a marketing push without a trailer just seems like a waste of time to me so I think this is just further verification that November is the launch month of the first teaser trailer.
Now that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been moved to a July 17th release (making it TF2 biggest competitor next year...again), it seems to be that leaves only two movies worth releasing the trailer with - Twilight (taking 11/21 spot vacated by Potter) and James Bond's Quantum of Solace (moved yesterday to 11/14).

Transformers 2 Trailer With Eagle Eye?
Roberto Orci, the great teaser that he is, posted on the Don Murphy message boards regarding when the trailer might come out. "Maybe -- or maybe in front of EAGLE EYE... who knows."
Eagle Eye (out September 26th) stars Shia LaBeouf so it’s a natural fit but at this point I think the studio is aiming for bigger game by attaching it either to Harry Potter or James Bond. I bet some people are kicking themselves for getting something out in time for The Dark Knight considering that movie is on track to become the second highest grossing movie of all time.

Teaser Trailer in November?
Hasbro had indicated it will show Transformers 2 footage at the San Diego Comic-Con this month and that has lead to speculation that maybe that will be when the teaser trailer for the movie will be released. When this was suggested on the Michael Bay's forum, Shoot for the Edit admin Nelson replied "No. November would be better." This had now led to new speculation that November is the new date for the trailer.
Normally Nelson credits Bay when he is the source of information and in this instance he didn't which leads me to believe the statement is simply Nelson's opinion on the matter, not indicative of locked in plans. However, he does have a point. After The Dark Knight debuts next week there really are not any movies coming out until November that will get the audience size that Bay and company would want to reach with a teaser trailer. In November though you have two highly anticipated releases in the form of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and James Bond's Quantum of Solace that are expected to fill many seats.
I think they are wasting an opportunity if they follow such a plan. The first films marketing strategy was pretty smart, providing a teaser in the summer, a trailer in the winter and a follow-up trailer in the spring. I don't see why they don't do the same for the sequel to get people talking and anticipating the film. This is all speculation thought and we really will not know what the trailer game plan is until the official news is leaked. Time will tell as always.

TF2 Teaser Trailer Coming?
The last week of June marks a few "anniversary" events for Transformers film franchise that indicates a teaser trailer for Transformers 2 could be coming.
June 29th, 2006 - Rover on Mars teaser trailer released
June 21st, 2007 - world premiere of Transformers 1 in Italy, followed a week later by its theatrical release for the public.
June 27th, 2008 - ?
June 26th, 2009 - Release date of Transformers 2
Just from that pattern, it seems to me that June 26th, 2008 would be a perfect time to release a teaser trailer online and then the next day in theatres with Wall-E and Wanted. Sure they are not Paramount films but both are expected to have huge audiences so why not use them.
This is all just speculation on my part but its seems to me that if Bay isn't thinking teaser trailer maybe a producer or two should start whispering into his ear about it, if no other reasons then to keep the June streak alive and start generating that buzz for those not already aware that a sequel is coming.
